The descriptions in ...These sound like great reads! The descriptions in His for Hawk sounds a lot like a book I read called Three Day Road by Joseph Boyden, about two Cree men who fight in the trenches of the first world war. His way with words makes you shiver in the cold, see the walls of mud, and smell the metallic scent of gunpowder. It's in my top ten for sure! <br />The Wake reminds me of the King Raven series by Stephen Lawhead; a story of a Welshman during the rebellion against England, who becomes a sort of Robin Hood figure.
